Somalia’s house of representatives Speaker in Baidoa to join ongoing summit between Regional President and Lawmakers

South West State President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen welcomed House of Representatives Speaker Adam Madobe at the airport in Baidoa, where they are scheduled to engage in discussions with federal lawmakers from the Southwest state.

The summit agenda focuses on addressing the challenges posed by Al-Shabaab and coordinating flood response efforts. Regional President Abdulaziz Lafta-Gareen, the host of the event, emphasized the importance of consultative talks with Members of Parliament (MPs) and expressed strong support for the completion of Somalia’s Constitution and the implementation of the National Consultative Council (NCC) agreement.

During the summit, Speaker Adam Madobe will articulate his perspectives on these Key issues. The participants highlight the collective responsibility in reshaping the country’s political system.

Baidoa, situated amidst the challenges posed by Al-Shabaab. The city is accommodating over a million internally displaced persons (IDPs) who are now contending with floods in their shelters.
