Somalia’s House of Representatives’ Speaker, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Noor Madobe, convened with armed forces commanders in Mogadishu to discuss recent distressing incidents, notably the tragic death of a pregnant woman and airport worker allegedly set on fire by her husband.
In response, Speaker Madobe has issued directives to the armed forces, with a particular emphasis on the Somalia Police Command, urging them to apprehend the perpetrators of these crimes and ensure swift justice.
The meeting also delved into ongoing security developments in Galmudug and Hirshabelle states. Speaker Madobe encouraged commanders to intensify efforts to eradicate the presence of Al-Shabaab in the country.
In a recent operation, Somalia military forces, alongside local militia, claimed to have successfully thwarted an Al-Shabaab attack in the Shabelow village of the Mudug region. The operation resulted in the reported death of at least 21 Al-Shabaab members, though the group has not provided any official comment on the incident
