Somalia’s Puntland state Planning Minister, Mohamed Said Faroole, has made serious allegations against President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. Minister Faroole took to Twitter to accuse President Hassan of involvement in deadly inter-clan fighting in the Mudug region.
According to Minister Faroole, Saturday’s clash between two clan militias from Galmudug and Puntland indicates the beginning of a third war in Galkayo involving the Puntland and Galmudug regional states.
The conflict, which erupted in the Galdogob district of the Mudug region, resulted in the loss of nearly ten lives, with more than ten others sustaining injuries. The dispute originated from a conflict over grazing land in the area.
As of now, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has not issued any comments regarding the accusations leveled against him by the Puntland state. The situation remains tense, and authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
