Somalia’s Speaker of the House of Representatives Embarks on Official Visit to USA

The Speaker of the House of Representatives of Somalia, Adam Mohamed Nour (Madoobe), has embarked on an official visit to the United States of America, accompanied by fellow government officials.

This visit comes in response to an official invitation extended by the U.S. Congress officials. The primary focus of the discussions will revolve around the enhancement of the Somalia Parliament and fostering collaboration between the legislative bodies of both nations.

While in Washington, the Speaker will participate in extensive deliberations with various members of Congress and engage with the Somali diaspora residing in the United States. The duration of his stay in Washington has not been disclosed by the House.

Speaker Madoobe has recently reaffirmed his dedication to the lawmakers of Somalia, emphasizing his commitment to enacting and approving new legislation that bolsters the ongoing counterterrorism efforts in central and southern Somalia.
