Hargeisa—July 12, 2020, today, the three national parties agreed to proceed parliamentary and municipal elections within this year of 2020. They also agreed the recently formed National Elections Commission should undertake their tasks, the former commission’s role restricted to consultancy and rendered to advisory, in other words, the ex-commission should act second for being a ceremonial.
Leaving any grievances cited by tribe or a certain region behind, the parties agreed to engage in the elections as before unregistered. After the elections, the government will carry out nation-wide head-counting of which will please Awdalians and others who think their representations should be bigger than it is today.
