Somaliland Clarifies Airspace Access Amidst Disputed Claims on Thai Cargo Plane

Responding to allegations by Somalia’s civil aviation authority regarding the prevention of a Thai cargo plane from landing in Hargeisa, Somaliland asserts that there was no scheduled arrival of a Thai cargo plane in Hargeisa on Thursday.

In an official statement, the Somaliland Aviation and Airports Authority confirms the successful landing of all scheduled planes at Egal International Airport. The authority further discloses ongoing discussions regarding aviation matters and assures the public that outcomes will be shared in due course.

This incident follows a recent claim by Somalia Aviation Authority, stating the rerouting of an Ethiopian Airlines plane bound for Hargeisa, compelling its diversion to Addis Ababa Bole International Airport before entering SomaliA airspace.
