Somaliland’s health ministry on Saturday confirmed 29 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total tally of infections to 413. The ministry records 2 new death cases in Hargeisa as well.
28 out of the 29 confirmed cases are Somalilanders and one of them is an Indian citizen living in Somaliland. 19 of the confirmed cases are male and 10 others are females.
Their age ranges from 10 to 89 years old.
Dr Hussein Mohamed Yusuf, a high-ranking officer at the Somaliland’s ministry of health
told the local journalists that 13 of the latest recorded covid-19 cases of today are Identified from Hargeisa, 11 of them are identified from Buroa, 3 of them from Berbera, 1 from Gabiley and 1 is identified from Buuhoodle city.
Dr Hussein Mohamed, said 5 people recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of people who have been discharged from Somaliland hospitals to 62.
Coronavirus cases in Somaliland are rising alarmingly on a daily basis while Hargeisa the Capital city of Somaliland remains the hotspot of the Somaliland local COVID-19 Transmission. Burco city, the second most populated city in Somaliland, also seems to be holding the second position of covid19 infections in the country after Hargeisa.
Somaliland has so far conducted total laboratory tests of 1671; of these 413 of them are confirmed to be positive for covid-19 with 24 confirmed deaths and 62 recoveries as of today.
