Somaliland house of representatives have today unanimously approved the house of representatives’ bylaws amendments with 70 Mps voting in favour and 4 others were against. The house of representatives has been debating this amendment for the past few days.
Barkhad Jama Batun, a member of the selected committee who were tasked for reviewing the house of representatives’ bylaws shared with the house members the challenges they faced during finalising the amendment.
The house of representative has not yet formally announced on which bylaws have been amended or added to the house. Meanwhile, this will be the first amendment approved since the new lawmakers assumed office recently.
