In the aftermath of a destructive fire that ravaged Wajale’s market, Mohamed Khadar, a Somaliland lawmaker, has conveyed his concerns regarding the recurring market fire outbreaks that have plagued the nation’s main commercial centers.
Mohamed Khadar, emphasized the immediate need for the government to establish a specialized committee tasked with investigating the recent market fire incident. Such an investigation, he stressed, is crucial to providing the public with a comprehensive report on the circumstances surrounding these recurrent fire outbreaks.
Should the government fail to appoint the necessary committee, Khadar suggested that the House of Representatives take decisive action by establishing its own investigative committee before its members adjourn for recess.
Government authorities have reported that there have been no casualties or injuries resulting from the recent fire in Wajale’s market. However, they have acknowledged the extensive property damage incurred during the incident.
