Somaliland MP gets admitted to hospital

Mohamoud Mohamed Yasin ‘Dheeg’  a veteran member of Somaliland’s House of Elders has been admitted to hospital for treatment. The Chairman of Waddani party paid a visit to the MP today.

Mohamoud Mohamed Yasin who is better known as Dheeg, a member of Somaliland’s House of Elders has been admitted to Hargeisa International Hospital for treatment. Reports reaching us state that the veteran MP is now in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Somaliland government officials and the relatives of the MP have yet to comment on the health status of Mohamoud Mohamed Yasin ‘Dheeg’. Initial reports say the MP was previously admitted to the Hargeisa General Hospital.  The MP has been suffering from some health problems in the last few days.

The Chairman of Waddani Party Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillah ‘Irro’ paid a visit to the MP in the hospital. He called upon the people to pray for the veteran MP and wish him quick recovery.

Mohamoud Mohamed Yasin ‘Dheeg’ is a member of Somaliland’s House of Elders selected from Hargeisa and an influential member of Waddani party. He is also a prolific poet and a songwriter with dozens of popular poems and songs. His literary works have been condensed in the book ‘Legacy of a Poet’ published in 2019.
