Somaliland President Appoints Ibrahim Raabi as General Secretary of the Ruling Party

The Central Committee of the Somaliland ruling party has held its 7th Congress in which they selected their leadership. The President has also selected Ibrahim Raabi as the new general secretary of the Party.

The ruling party of Somaliland (Kulmiye) has held its 7th Central Committee congress where the Party’s top leaders were present, including the President of Somaliland Muse Bihi. At this meeting of the Central Committee, the ruling party selected the leadership of the central committee.

The President of Somaliland Muse Bihi has also officially appointed Ibrahim Ahmed Raabi as the Secretary General of the party where the central committee members have unanimously approved him.

In his remarks, the President has congratulated the selected leadership of the Central Committee members and challenged them to implement the party’s vision and mission.

‘I want to remind you, the duties and obligations of the central committee members of the party. A number of important responsibilities lie with the Party’s Central Committee. Number One; the Central Committee establishes and implements the decisions reached at the party’s grand convention’.

This month, the ruling party of Somaliland made a formal public statement about the list of Kulmiye’s Central Committee which was recently approved at the Party’s Grand Convention.

The list had 239 members who are delegates from the different regions of the country including 54 MPs. The mayors of Kulmiye Party will also be included in the party’s central committee.
