Somaliland President Extends Congratulations to Faratoon on his Election as House of Representatives Speaker

President Muse Bihi of Somaliland has offered his heartfelt congratulations to Yasin Haji Mohamud Hiir Faratoon on his successful election as the new House of Representatives Speaker. The congratulatory message was conveyed immediately after a meeting between President Bihi and the newly elected Speaker at the state house.

During the interaction, President Bihi extended his appreciation to the members of the house for their decision to elect Faratoon as the new Speaker. The President also emphasized the significance of their vote in contributing to the country’s stabilization, particularly addressing the ongoing conflict in Las Anod.

Yasin Faratoon had previously vied for this position in 2021 but was surpassed by the outgoing Speaker, Abdirisaaq Khalif Ahmed. Who resigned.
