Somaliland President Travelled to Djibouti for High-level Talks

This morning, President Muse Bihi leading four ministers together with Adna Adan, political advisor flew to Djibouti capital Djibouti for US-backed talks between Somaliland and Somalia. This negotiation meant to keep the door open for further future meetings and “release of emotions retained for a long time” according to the EU.

President Ismail Gheuleh who will chair the meeting invited Ethiopia’s PM making the summit the most important conference Somaliland ever attended. US ambassador to Somalia along with other officials from the EU and the Arab league is expected to attend the meeting.

However according to the EU, the gathering is a preliminary one and a forum for release of suppressed emotions paving the way for further meaningful meetings.

At air of electioneering, Farmaajo Somalia’s president will capitalize this conference for point scoring and political showdown against his rivals in Somalia. Both the prime minister and the president of Somalia will attend the meeting
