The Somaliland Vice President Abdirahman Saylici has officially announced that he has quitted from the race for the ruling party’s leadership in 2020. He said he compromised for the interest of the party and nation.
Abdirahman Abdillahi Saylici, the current vice president of Somaliland has finally decided to completely leave from the ruling party’s leadership in 2020. He said he has compromised for the interest of his party which he has been in its leadership for the last decade.
In his remarks, the vice President highlighted that before and during his political career he did a lot for his country citing that he was a businessman before he joined politics and he contributed rebuilding Somaliland.
‘I Stand before you today that I have compromised for the interest of the Party and the Nation. Because this Party is the ruling party and its conflict could be a threat to the nation.’
On the other side, Mohamed Hassan (Saajin) who is running against the vice President for the Kulimiye’s fourth Chairman has welcomed and appreciated the move. This coincides with less than three days before the Party’s grand convention.
This also means that all the top leadership positions of the ruling party there will be no opposing candidates for the upcoming Kulmiye’s grand convention.
