Al-Jazeera Removes Allegations Against Dahabshiil from Its Youtube Channel

The Doha-based Al-Jazeera TV Station has removed the false allegations against Dahabshiil Group of Companies, from its youtube video, after legal communications made by the lawyer of the company, yesterday.

A source close to the top management of Dahabshiil, Hargeisa, has confirmed to us that Dahabshiil’s legal team contacted Al-Jazeera’s management about the false allegations which was aired on March 17, 2019, in the program called “War of Ports in the Horn of Africa”.

Al-Jazeera decided to remove parts of the program which were concerning the false allegations against Dahabshiil Company. The TV station or its top management had not retracted or made an apology publicly yet to these false accusations.

Al-Jazeera’s TV program made up stories about terrorism links and money laundering accusations against Dahabshiil.

Dahabshiil denies the allegations

In a press statement, Dahabshiil Group said that “it strongly refutes the false allegations made against it by Al Jazeera Arabic television. 
Dahabshiil also said in the statement that it was not given a right of reply before Al Jazeera’s report and a simple call to us would have enabled the numerous errors in the broadcast to have been avoided.

Dahabshiil called on Al Jazeera to retract their baseless claims and remove this information from the public domain.
