

The death toll from Covid-19 has continued to rise in Burao Somaliland. The regional administration including the Mayor of Burao said the number of people dying from Coronovirus is on the rise and Cemeteries are full.
According to the regional administration, the virus is spreading fast in the city and it is feared that the true scale of the outbreak is even worse than what has been disclosed.
He elaborated that around 140 people have been buried in a single cemetery in Burao this month. Iy is believed that majority of them died from Cronovirus. The Mayor also expressed concern for the elderly people who are at higher risk of contracting the virus.
He asked the public to follow the guidelines and directives of the ministry of Health inorder to contain the spread of this global pandemic in the region and the country at large. The Mayor also advised the Imams of the Mosques to remind people to wear Face masks, observe social distancing and sanitize while performing daily prayers.
