A Djiboutian citizen who allegedly criticizes the Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh was arrested by Somaliland authorities in Gabiley district of Maroodijeh region in Somaliland.
The man known as Arreh Suleiman said in a video he recorded by himself that Somaliland authorities have not yet clarified the reasons behind his arrest. Arreh feared Somaliland authorities would hand him over to the Djibouti government where he condemned the ruler as an “authoritarian” and called him several times to transfer power to civilians.
He demanded Somaliland people where his mother hails from to react to his arrest and urged their government to not hand him over to Djibouti. Somaliland authorities have not yet officially commented on this matter.
