Marodijeh Regional Appeal Court today sentenced Abdikadir Nur Mohamed(Teacher) and Bashe Hassan Mohamed (Poet) to jail time of 8 years and Omer Hussein Abdi to six years in prison and h
The sentenced men where in custody for past 10 months.
The court recognized them as an anti-state members of Whatsapp group.
Poet Said Mahmoud Gahayr who was present at the court hearing told the press that the Hargeisa’s Court of Appeal sentenced the two men to 8 years in jail and a total of 625,000 US dollars, as a fine to their alleged destruction of property of a private company.
An earlier judgment, the Marodijeh Regional Court acquitted the three men and ordered their release. But the government’s prosecutor office have taken an appeal to Regional Appeal Court.
The relatives of the sentenced men and their lawyers mentioned their amusements about the court’s judgment and how greatly the two judgments have differed.
