The deputy mayor of Hargeisa, Khadar Ahmed Omar , has denied reports of disagreements between the city council members and the central government over rebuilding Hargeisa’s largest market which was engulfed by a huge fire on friday.
He also denied that the Mayor and the President had a closed door meeting on the issue. The deputy mayor said this is not a time for such speculations to emerge as the city struggles with finding support for the Hargeisa market victims.
He urged the public to avoid misleading information and to focus on supporting each other during this difficult time. The deputy Mayor revealed that no official from the central government has attempted to intervene in the city council’s duties going on in Hargeisa’s Waaheen market.
