Hirsi Haji Hassan Announces his candidacy for Chairmanship of Waddani party

Hirsi Haji Hassan, a former Somaliland minister has announced his plans to run for chairmanship of waddani party after one of his rivals withdrew from the race on Wednesday.

Hirsi who initially diffected from the ruling party (Kulmiye) six years ago revealed during a press conference that he is more concerned about the future of the nation and has the political experience to lead the party if he wins the position.

Hirsi Ali Haji Hassan believes it’s the right time for him to run for chairmanship and pledged to lead the party to victory if he is endorsed. He spelt out that he is not the best candidate–but- the best person for the office.

The aspiring chairman of Waddani party also made it clear on his endorsement of Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro for the Presidency which will take place next year. His announcement came a day after one of his rivals Abdiqadir Jirde quit the race on wednesday making him the front runner for the office.
