The international community has strongly criticized the violence that is taking place in LasAnod city in the eastern part of Somaliland for the second week and expressed serious concern about reports regarding the mobilization of armed groups.
In a press statement, they said Attacks against civilians must stop immediately and revealed there were shelling against civilian infrastructure which has resulted in casualties and widespread displacement.
The statement from the international partners, which is the second one they have issued since the conflict started, urged all sides to adhere to the ceasefire, exercise restraint, and engage in constructive dialogue to establish a pathway towards a peaceful resolution.
They also reiterated their call for unhindered humanitarian access to urgently address the needs of those displaced and impacted by the ongoing violence.
