In a joint statement, International partners are gravely concerned about the current violence in LasAnod city that has resulted in many deaths and injuries in the past few days which Somaliland claimed an armed militia attacked on its military base in LasAnod.
The International partners have called for an immediate de-escalation of violence, the protection of civilians, unimpeded humanitarian access and for tensions to be resolved peacefully through dialogue.
In a meeting by council of ministers, Somaliland authorities clarified its commitment to resolve the tension through a peaceful manner and dialogue and called residents to safeguard security and to partake in bringing peace to the city.
