The Mayor of Hargeisa has expressed sadness over the huge fire that destroyed more bussiness at Jigjiga’s biggest market on Thursday, pledging to keep a close eye on the matter. The city administration said the fire was successfully extinguished.
An inferno engulfed the biggest market of Jigjiga town, the administrative city of Somali state in Ethiopia on Thursday which the fire brigade eventually and successfully extinguished, according to the city administration.
The Mayor of Hargeisa, Abdikareem Ahmed Moge whose city experienced a devastating fire that destroyed hundreds of small and middle businesses last year has expressed his deep sadness over the inferno engulfed Jigjiga’s biggest market. The Mayor pledged to keep a close eye on the matter.
The Jigjiga administration said the fire broke out early in the morning and resulted in the destruction of business as no deaths were reported. However, the cause of the blaze that gutted the market is yet unknown.
