Hargeisa (Somaliland.com) – The Somaliland House of Representatives has unanimously approved the Minister of Information, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Muse Dirie and Deputy Minister of Education Ahmed Hassan Nur.
The session, which was attended by 53 members of parliament on Sunday, was chaired by the Speaker of the Somaliland House of Representatives Baashe Mohamed Farah, in which MPs voted in favor of the Minister of Information, Mohamed Muse Dirie, by 44 MPs, while 1 abstained, and 7 MPs have rejected and so the minister was approved.
On the other hand, the members of the House of Representatives voted unanimously by Deputy Minister of Education and Science Ahmed Hassan Nur, by 52 members approving his nomination, where no one neither objected nor abstained.
Minister Mohamed Muse Dirie failed to receive the approval vote of the House of Representatives for two previous attempts after the Waddani MPs deserted the House, and the meetings to fail to get the required minimum number of members of the assembly in order to the proceedings to commence.
Before the vote, the Minister of Information, Culture and awareness Mr. Mohamed Dirie told the lawmakers about the tasks that the ministry achieved while he was in office.
He also said that the ministry repaired generators and installed Solar system for electric generation
The minister added that the Quran radio station and Radio Hargeisa now will share broadcast transmission systems of the major towns of all regions of the country, to allow radio Hargeisa to air news as an FM mode to reach audiences outside the Capital.
