Over One million two hundred thousand voters register to vote in the Republic of Somaliland.

Over One million two hundred thousand Plus voters have successfully registered to vote in the Republic of Somaliland, according to the Ministry of Employment, Social Affairs, and Family.

The official Twitter account of the Director-General of the Ministry of Employment, Social Affairs, and Family, Abdirasheed Ibrahin Abdirahman says on May 31st this year, the registered voters will decide who will represent them in the Local Council & Parliament through One man, one vote.
Abdirasheed said change happens through polls In Somaliland and there is a 60% increase in comparison to the previously registered voters.

Somaliland National Electoral Commision recently began distributing voter cards in the last three remaining regions of the country. This will be one of the last preparations ahead of the polling day.


The National Electoral commission of Somaliland officially kicked off the voter cards distribution in Maroodi’jeeh, Togdheer and Awdal regions where many people have turned up at their allocated areas to pick their voter cards.


According to the Electoral commission officials, People who were registered in the recently concluded voter registration process and those registered in 2016 who didn’t obtain voter cards will be eligible to take part in the work out.
