The Togdheer Police officers have formally announced a short term ban on rickshaw drivers from operating in the evening across the region. Speaking to journalists from CBA Tv , the regional security officers said they have launched a security operation in Togdheer to apprehend rickshaws.
“ According to our preliminary investigation reports, a rickshaw with a red colour was connected to a hit and run accident that left a male pedestrian dead who is now in the mortuary. We have decided that all rickshaws with red colour to be our prime target to apprehend the suspect who killed the male pedestrian.” said the police.
Mohamed Farah Nour, the regional Police Chief expounding what motivated them to make this sudden decision said that one of the rickshaw drivers was connected to a hit and run accident that claimed the life of a male pedestrian.
The regional police officers announced that all rickshaws will not be allowed to operate in the evening until further notice. This restriction will be the most difficult order rickshaw drivers in the region have face.
