Somaliland President has announced that the AstraZeneca Vaccine exercise will begin in the country on Saturday. Somaliland received the first batch of the Oxford- AstraZeneca vaccine on Tuesday.
The president accentuated that he will be the first person to be vaccinated in the country as an example in a bid to save many lives.
He also aid no one will be forced to take the Vaccine but those who do not take it will be treated differently to avoid infecting others. He stated that this Vaccine will play a key role to mitigate the Pandemic.
Somaliland ministry of health on Tuesday announced that it had received the first 65,000 doses of covid-19 vaccines through the covax programme. It said that it was a great step towards controlling the spate of the rise of coronavirus in the country.
Earlier the Somaliland ministry of health launched a new health survey in the country due to the resurgence of Covid-19 in the country. The ministry said this survey is expected to discover the degree of covid-19 in Somaliland.
