Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, the Senate speaker of Somalia has denied that any deal has been reached on the electoral process for Somaliland Members of Parliament. He accused Farmajo and his government of Spreading fake rumors to the public.Abdi Hashi also said that there were no representatives of Somaliland people to the consultative meetings over the elections.
On different occasions, Somaliland government has previously affirmed that the upcoming elections in Somalia have nothing to do with Somaliland and no one will represent them in those elections.
For the past year, there have been political disagreements between the federal government and other political stakeholders over the electoral process in the country. The Gedo region, The Federal electoral committee and the Mps of Somaliland are one of the main issues on this electoral impasse.
