Somaliland has issued a stern warning to its neighbor, Puntland, after reports emerged of an impending attack on its territories, vowing to defend itself against any aggression.
Somaliland’s defence ministry has announced that it has received intelligence that members of the Puntland Security Force (PSF) and Puntland Maritime Police Force (PMPF) are planning to attack its military in the coming days.
In response, the ministry has taken all necessary steps to protect its people and territory, and has called on the international community to condemn the potential aggression and support its right to self-defence.
This comes after the local administration denied that clan militias fighting against Somaliland troops were receiving assistance from Puntland and Somali government forces, escalating the tensions between the two sides in the disputed territories.
