Somaliland business community have fundraised eight million U.S dollars to support the reconstruction of Waaheen market in Hargeisa and those who lost their properties. The event which was hosted by the President was attended by the management and founders of well known companies.
President Muse Bihi extended his gratitude to the business communities for their support and urged the rest of the public to take part in the exercise to rebuild Hargeisa Waaheen Market.
Officials said that regional states have also contributed their support to help the victims in rebuilding the market. Somalia became the first regional state to announce its contribution which they sent last week.
Hargeisa municipality is expected to launch a clean up campaign on Monday at Waaheen market where more than 5,000 small, middle and large family businesses were destroyed and 28 people injured.
