The Republic of Somaliland has urged the Governments of Russia and Ukraine to stop fighting as the situation between the two sides gets increasingly hostile. Somaliland has remained neutral and not clarified its position on the Russia Ukaraine war.
On Monday, Somaliland President underscored that the Ukraine and Russia war could have a major global impact. Somaliland students who are stranded in Ukraine have been urged to contact the Ministry’s diaspora department and the country’s mission in Finland.
More African countries are attempting to evacuate their nationals from Ukraine as the war intensifies. Russian forces have reportedly advanced to major cities though the Ukrainian government says Russian advance has been stopped in all directions.
