Somaliland’s disability organization on Saturday hosted a ceremony in the capital Hargeisa in which all activists who contributed to the well being of the people with disabilities in the country were awarded.
Among the top officials who attended the event was the chairman of Somaliland’s electoral commission and members from two houses of the parliament.
The chairman of Somaliland disability organization, Dahir Haji Jama , praised the role of the community in helping people with disabilities in Somaliland.
He added that the disability community faces many challenges including lack of political participation.
