Somaliland political parties are campaigning for the second day for the local council and house of representatives elections. The campaigns oficially started on Sunday. Supporters of the ruling party held rallies attended by large numbers of people across the country.
The President of Somaliland who is also the Chairman of the ruling party was present at his Party’s rally which was held at the Hargeisa Freedom park. The President congratulated the public for the beginning of the national election campaigns.
Muse Bihi also expressed optimism that his political party’s candidates will be in the top list for the election winners and encouraged eligible voters to give their votes on Kulmiye’s candidates.
“ We have selected for you the most competent candidates for the local council and parliamentary seats. We can trust them in power and they are all ready to serve for this nation. None of them will lose the election, they will all win.” said the president.
He added that tha/ this election is sending a clear message to Somaliland’s enemies though the President did not specify any country. On the other side while slashing hope for the opposition parties, he said that they can not match better than his political party.
“ Somaliland political parties are competing with each other for leadership.. Kulmiye party has been tested and vetted. Two political parties ruled in this nation; UDUB party which was founded by Mohamed Haji Ibrahim Egal and his leadership was praised by the Public. The second party is Kulmiye of which Silanyo was the founder along with other figures. We are all here to maintain the positive impact left by our Kulmiye leaders.” said Muse Bihii.
