On Sunday, the Somaliland National Electoral commission announced that they are in their final preparation of replacing voter registration cards and constituencies which is expected to kick off on Monday.
The Electoral commission said that they have already sent all the required equipment and the staff to different regions of the country for the voter registration replacement exercise as wel as constituencies.
According to the Electoral commission, only those who lost their previous voter cards and those who want to change their voting constituencies will be allowed to take part in the exercise. Recently, the National electoral commission concluded the voter registration process in the country.
The house of elders also endorsed that the country’s parliamentary and local council elections would take place on 31 May of this year as proposed by the President and the Electoral commission along with the Political parties. This means that Somaliland is in its final stages to hold its parliamentary and local council elections.
