Hargeisa, May 25 — The Somaliland government has accused the President of Somalia, Mohamed Abdillahi Farmaajo, of being the mastermind behind the armed groups against Somaliland.
The Minister of Interior Affairs of the Republic of Somaliland, Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, told the media that the Mogadishu Administration has created insurgents to destabilize Somaliland peace.
The minister said, “the militant group against Somaliland which are based in the Puntland State of Somalia are making attacks and insecurities in the eastern region.”
This comes after the delegates of Kulmiye and UCID parties returned from a working visit to Kenya, where they met with EU diplomats in Nairobi. They also confirmed that they briefly held discussions with one the Somalia’s opposition leaders, Abdirahman Abdishakur of Wadajir party.
Meanwhile, UCID opposition party leader Faisal Ali Waraabe reiterated that the Somaliland officials will cooperate anyone who is opposing Mr. Farmaajo’s Administration, and Mr. Faisal promised to make a great effort to topple the weak administration in Mogadishu.
