

Former Somaliland President Daahir Rayale Kaahin has on Monday returned to Hargeisa after spending several years abroad. However, the arrival of the former leader was met with unprecedented challenges as the media was banned from recording his reception.
Ali Hamud Jibril, the deputy chairperson of Somaliland’s house of representatives disclosed that the government prevented former President Dahir Rayale Kaahin from speaking to the media at the airport.
Dahir Rayale who served as the third President of the country said the government must be questioned on why he was prevented from speaking to the media at the airport upon his return home.
The Secretary general of Waddani party, Khadar Hussein Abdi described the move as “Disgrace” and called on the government to apologize and hold those who were responsible accountable.
The former leader had accused the Kulmiye’s leaders of repeatedly denouncing invitations extended to them by his administration for the celebration of the national days.
