Since the clashes between Somaliland army and militia started three days ago in Las Anod, there have been growing accusations against the Somaliland government raised by some of the locals that Somaliland has indiscriminately shelled mortars in the city and damaged public services that include hospitals.
In a response to the matter, the deputy minister of information for Somaliland has firmly denounced the allegations and described it as unfounded information. He clarified that some people intentionally circulated fake information; videos and pictures on social media to mislead people.
The official said most of the pictures and videos circulated on social media were previous attacks that took place in foreign countries and claimed that Somaliland has no any motives to damage the public services it had provided to its people.
However, Somaliland government reaffirmed its commitment to resolve the contention peacefully through dialogue.
