Somaliland minister of telecommunication and technology Abdilahi Soufi has appeared before the permanent committee of the upper house and shared with them his plans to implement in the coming year.
The Minister underscored that his government is committed to have a lasting solution to the recurrent disagreements on tower installments in populated areas while ruling out the suspension of new tower installments in the major cities.
The ministry also plans to have telecommunication companies’ interconnectivity law which will enable all customers of the companies to communicate with each other. Abdillahi Soufi said he shared new laws that will be governed by the telecommunication companies with the committee.
During the meeting, some of the permanent committee members questioned him on various issues and future plans including the government’s plans to limit the “Fake News” on social media and how it impacted young generations.
