According to a government press release. Somaliland government has sent a stern warning against Journalists and media outlets who operate in Somaliland not to broadcast any reports or vox pops that could provoke LasAnod’s present tension.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of information, the government threatened the media would pay the price if they fail to comply with the government’s directives towards the state of affairs in LasAnod. The ministry told the Journalists that its a collective responsibility to preserve the integration of the people.
The statement came at a time the traditional elders’ conference in LasAnod entered its third day and is expected to announce the much anticipated communique anytime soon as Somaliland government officials hope it would not cause Somaliland any significant problems.
