Attentions of the stakeholders in Somaliland have been drawn to the incessant rise in cases of violation of human rights in the country as two police officers, identified as Hassan Ismail (Gacmo yare) and Mustafe Dirie (Karaak), allegedly raped a 16 year old teenage girl in Aynabo disritct.The Human Rights Center condemned the rape and other similar human rights abuses across the country.
Khadija Muuse who is the program coordinator of the Human right Centre in Somaliland, said the Centre frowns at the recent cases of rape of a young teenage girl by a commissioner of police who is placed in a position to uphold the sanctity of rules of law. Khadija expressed worry over the spate of violation of human rights across the country especially during the last peaceful rally held by the opposition parties.
She called on the Somaliland authorities to step up apprehension of the offenders and ensure punishment to stem the tide of any act of crimes and criminalities in country.
