The Somaliland interior minister, Mohamed Kaahin has engaged in talks with security agencies officials regarding the forthcoming voter registration process that will start at the end of this month across the country.
In a statement, the Interior ministry said, strengthening security on the voting registration sites was the center of the discussion as the government is in final stages to start the registration exercise in the following days.
The ministry claimed that Bihi’s administration is the first ever incumbent administration to fully pay all the financial requirements towards the voter registration process and acclaimed Bihi to became the first ever Somaliland President to hold a combination election.
Despite their disagreement on the election sequence, On several occasions, Opposition parties and President Bihi have called on the public to participate in the forthcoming voter registration process that will officially start December 28, and will end January 28.
