Somaliland government has completed all the election requirements and is just waiting for the election to kick off on 31 of this month where the public will cast their votes for their favourite candidates.
On Thursday, Somaliland cabinet ministers held a meeting for the upcoming Parliamentary and local council elections. The President of Somaliland Muse Bihi along with his vice Abdirahman Saylici chaired the meeting with the main agenda being to inform the public on how the central government is ready for the election.
Muse Bihi, the President of Somaliland noted that his administration has successfully completed all the election requirements citing information shared by the country’s finance ministry.
More than 10,000 military personnel plus unspecified security officers will be deployed at all the polling stations in the country. The government also asked the security agencies to intensify their duties before election day.
On 31 of this month, Somaliland citizens will cast their votes to elect their favourite candidates. The electoral commission had announced that more than 1 million voters picked their voter cards and Maroodi jeeh region Hargeisa, which Hargeisa is the administrative city, will have the largest number of more than 400,000 voters.
