Somaliland has formally announced that it has lifted the ban on flydubai, an Emirati owned company. According to Somaliland officials, the two governments have reached a bilateral agreement while the company accepted to implement the country’s flights operating policy.
The Director General of Somaliland Civil Aviation Authority, Omar Zayid, stated that Somaliland and the United Arab Emirates made a progressive choice to shape a better future for the two states.
He also advised other nations who want their flag carriers to start flights in Somaliland to follow suit.
Last year, the government of Somaliland announced the suspension of FlyDubai and Air Arabia into the country. The authorities accused the airlines of complying with the Somali federal government’s directive to suspend international flights into Hargeisa.
