

The Somaliland Military court has sentenced to death Mr. Osman Dirie Burale, who is a police officer, after he was convicted for the murder of Ibrahim Salad, a 23 year old student at Amoud University in Borama.
This incident which took place in July of this year was blamed on the government for not giving training regarding social affairs to the police and urged the government for speedy trial.
The 23 year old who was a student at Amoud University in Borama, passed away after the police security guard at the campus shot him dead. Reports said the two had gotten into an altercation before he opened fire.
This is not the first time a somaliland military court has given a death sentence. Last year February, another police officer, Yasin Mohamed was sentenced to death after he was convicted for the murder of a civilian.
