The finance minister of Somaliland, Sa’ad Ali Shire, has chaired at his office a meeting on trade licensing facilitation to help traders to access their business licenses without hindrances.
At least 14 senior government officials including ministers, vice ministers and Director generals representing different ministries attended the meeting to exchange their ideas.
The finance ministry noted that this meeting is as a result of the financial crises caused by the recently razed Waaheen market, inflation and the recurrent droughts that led to many people becoming financially unstable.
The ministry decided to ease legal procedures for a person or company to obtain a business license without spending much cost and time. Meanwhile, the ministries of finance and commerce have jointly informed traders whose business licenses expired for a discount which will last until june.
