The Minister of Interior for Somaliland Mohamed Kahin sat with the traditional elders and intellectuals of Las Anod today and discussed the present situation of the city where there have been protests against the frequent assassinations in Las Anod.
In the meeting the officials addressed the importance of enhancing security in cooperation with the locals. The ministry affirmed that the meeting ended up with positive results that included the public to unite against anyone or group posing threat in the region.
Key Ministers and Somaliland security agencies’ chiefs are all in Sool region attempting to lower tension, calling people for calm and restore normalcy as the army returned to their barracks last Thursday.
On the other side, Somaliland had accused its neighbor country, Somalia. In particular Puntland state for fuelling Las Anod’s tension and called it not to incite violence in the region.
