

Sheikh Khaliil Abdillahi Ahmed, the Minister for religious affairs in Somaliland has held a meeting with the National moon sighting committee over the crescent moon for the onset of the Holy month of Ramadan.
In his remarks, the minister asked the public to make direct communications with the country’s ministry of Religious affairs if they see the new moon sight marking the holy month of Ramadan. The minister affirmed that the committee will commence informing the public of any updates on the sighting of the moon starting on Tuesday night.
This will be the second Ramadan as Somaliland battles with the resurgence of Covid-19 while the number of deaths sharply increases in some regions of the country including Burao.
