Somaliland ministry of transport and road development together with the International Save the Children have laid the foundation stone of a new road connecting Gabiley town and Aaddo Village that is expected to be significant to the region’s transport.
This project is implemented by the International Save the Children with the support of the Somaliland’s Road Development Agency and was funded by the African Development Fund bank through IGAD.
The head of the Safe the Children organization Abdinasir Ali Sahal and other officials who spoke at the event gave more details of the project and reported that This is a large-scale project aimed to operate in Somaliland’s regions, the project is also intended to provide gabiley additional developmental projects including constructing new roads and dams in rural areas for the benefit of the residents and livestock.
The manager of the Somaliland’s Road Development Agency Mawlid Nuuh said the agency will give full support to the project and also praised the safe children organization for playing a significant role.
Meanwhile, The mayor of Gabiley Mahamed Amin Omar praised and welcomed the developmental projects launched in his region, and expressed optimism that this could mean a lot to his people and Gabiley.
