Ahmed Abdi Ibrahim, a member of Somaliland house of representatives appreciated the recently concluded debate at the British house of commons where they debated on Somaliland’s recognition. He believes Somaliland will remain as an independent state from Somalia and there is no “way Back”.
He also ruled out any future possibility of reunion between Somaliland and Somalia. Ahmed Abdi Ibrahim underlined that it is very nice for the people of Somaliland that British MPs raised this issue at the right time. He extended gratitude to Gavin Williamson for tabling the case of Somaliland before the house of commons.
Today, A large number of people including politicians and students rallied in Hargeisa in Support of Somaliland’s recognition. The keynote speakers accentuated that the international community should respect the rights of Somaliland to be an independent state.
