Somaliland Member of Parliament Ahmed Khalif in a press conference said he endorses the Unilateral Ceasefire issued last night by the Somaliland government on Lasanod Clashes, calling on both sides to make peace and abide by the ceasefire.
Meanwhile The Mp sent a call to the National Disaster Response organizations to urgently deliver humanitarian assistance and the basic needs for the displaced people which is estimated at 80,000 people since the armed conflict started.
Ahmed Khalif expressed Sadness as one of the representatives of Sool region in the parliament that more casualties happened in the region, and sent a message to Somaliland society, traditional elders and leaders from both sides who are exchanging hate speeches in the media to stop and to promote peace and stability.
The MP denied the President’s statement saying that there are “ terrorists” in Lasanod. Blamed Bihi’s administration for negligence and underlined if there is Alshabab presence in Las Anod was the government’s major obligations to prevent such threats to emerge in the region.
The MP noted there are more solutions to resolve the conflict that do not include armed conflict and urged both sides to meet for peace talks.
